Requesting CERT Assistance
Disaster Services
Disaster assistance requests must be approved by the EMA Director in the county in which the service will be delivered. Requests can be submitted by contacting the CERT Coordinator, who will then contact the EMA, or by calling the appropriate EMA directly. Once CERT response is approved by the EMA, the Coordinator will communicate with the requesting agency to define mission assignments and timelines then contact volunteers to provide assistance. Contact information is provided on the About page. CERT volunteers are trained and prepared to provide many services following a disaster. Our services are intended to support those of public safety and assist agencies in filling the gaps that often occur when a disaster overwhelms resources. Trained volunteers can provide these disaster support services:
We're also a creative bunch! If you're looking for a service that isn't listed here, give us a call. Chances are we have someone who can help. |
Community Events
Requests for CERT participation in a community event should be submitted to the CERT Coordinator. All community event activities are approved by the EMA but requests should be routed through the Coordinator who will contact the EMA to request approval. When submitting a request, provide details of the event, including the date, time, location, tasks, and number of volunteers needed. Please remember that it takes 2-4 weeks to schedule volunteers for these events so allow adequate time for coordination to take place. All work provided by CERT is done on a volunteer basis. We make every effort to provide volunteers to support approved community events. Please understand that some circumstances, such as limited advance notification or conflicting schedules, may prevent our volunteers from being able to meet your organization's needs. Speaker's Bureau
North Coast CERT has a cadre of volunteers available to provide presentations for community organizations throughout Erie, Huron and Ottawa counties. Volunteers can provide your group with information on the role of CERT in a disaster response, emergency preparedness tips for their homes and businesses, and volunteer opportunities with North Coast CERT. Presentations can be adjusted to meet the time frame available and audience of your organization. Contact us at sandy@consultrsa.com for more information. |
